You may have heard the term localization, and the word localization is always associated with translating the original language into the language where the product will be used. But it turns out I was wrong. My view could be considered narrow if I consider localization to be just a translation activity, especially in the field of design.

Localization is the process of adapting a product or service to meet the needs of a specific locale. This can involve translating the product or service into the local language, but it also goes beyond that to consider cultural differences, such as customs, values, and beliefs.

  • Adapt the design to accommodate different languages. Some languages, such as Chinese and Japanese, require more space than others. When designing a product or service for a global audience, it is important to ensure that the design can accommodate different languages without becoming cluttered or difficult to use.
  • Consider cultural differences in user behavior. Different cultures…
