Unlocking Creativity: Why Art, Design, and Architecture Research Should Inspire Everyone

In the past two days, I attended the National Summit Forum Product Design Study Program (Rakernas Forum Prodi Desain Produk — ADPII), where academics in the field of Product Design gathered to discuss the future of design education and innovation in Indonesia. Among the many fascinating discussions, one topic stood out to me: the management of academic journals. Representing the Board of Experts who also happens to be the heads the management of Jurnal Desain Indonesia (JDI) — a SINTA 3-ranked journal striving to reach SINTA 2 status, Mr. Andry Masri, shared his tips and tricks for running an academic publication. While his insights were invaluable, they sparked a bigger question in my mind: Why should academic research remain confined to academia?
